1. Fraser-McMann House 1876 Marker

Inscription. The conspicuous Fraser-McMann House was built to showcase the prominence of the entrepreneur Dr. Henry Rolls, who was responsible for subdividing this Thorold neighbourhood in the mid-nineteenth century. Notwithstanding, the house is more commonly associated with Alexander Fraser and Leslie McMann, two wealthy businessmen and later mayors whose ascendancy through Thorold's socio-economic ranks over the subsequent decades testified to the spirit and resilience of the city's founding fathers.

Decorative motifs associated with this Italianate-style house including its stately square plan, hipped roof and imposing façade all lend themselves to the importance of the house's built heritage legacy.
