1. The Smerdon-Buss House c. 1915 Marker

Inscription. Built by Alfred Murch Smerdon, whose great uncle James Weeks founded the Thorold Reed Band in the 1850s. The house went through two other families - the Dunns from 1919-20 and the Tincknells from 1920-27, before being sold to Paul & Louise Buss in 1927. A business leader, Paul Buss was elected President of the Thorold Board of Trade in 1932 and founded Spun Rock Wool Co. located on Ormond St. North in the mid-1930s.

Erected 2013 by Heritage Thorold.
