1. Heritage Garden Marker

Inscription. The Heritage Garden's first planting in 2007 was donated by Friends of Elisha Morgan. The two American redbuds are in memory of Sarah Brown Morgan, the first wife of Elisha Morgan. The Morgans purchased the property at the request of daughter Leah Morgan, wife of Dr. Henry Snook, in 1817 at a cost of $165.00.

Sarah (d. 1818), Elisha (d. 1827) and daughter Ruth (d. 1827) died while living at the mansion. Andrew Jackson Morgan (b. 1818) was the only one of the five Morgan child born at the mansion.
