Welcome to White Water Shaker Village. . Welcome! Thank you for visiting the North Family of White Water Shaker Village. White Water Shaker Village is one of the 24 villages founded in the United States between 1787 and 1823 by the United Society of Believers in Christ's Second Appearing, generally called "Shakers." There were once 5 Shaker villages in Ohio. White Water is the only intact Shaker village in the state, retaining most of its original buildings in their original settings. Additionally, White Water is home to the only standing brick Shaker Meeting House in the country. The Friends of White Water Shaker Village, Inc., a non-profit organization, formed in 2002 to preserve, restore, and open to the public the ten historic Shaker buildings and eight acres of the North Family of White Water Shaker Village. The Friends of the White Water Shaker Village seeks broad support from visitors and the community to help make our vision for the future of this village a reality.
