Original use: Officers' Quarters
Current use: Center for the Women of New York

Replacing a frame structure from the first development phase of the Fort at Willets Point, Building 207 was constructed for $15,125 to meet the needs of the rapidly expanding fort and newly installed Coast Artillery Corps. Like many of the buildings on the premises, it displays the form and details of the Colonial Revival style of architecture popular at the time.

A Place to Call Home
With its two-story wooden porch extending the building's entire front facade and its regal Tuscan columns, Building 207 was said to be one of the most ornate and imposing dwellings on the site. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) rehabilitated it in 1937, and the the structure was later converted into a five-unit apartment building, remaining in use as officers' quarters until the late 1960s.
