Inscription.

Railroad workers sweated away, swinging tools, replacing railroad ties and digging ditches. Though they didn't make much money, they played an important role in their communities. Their work connected the people and goods of distant towns, helping communities prosper.

A low-income family could afford to build a simple one-room house on the edge of town. This was a starter home that they hoped to expand or replace one day.

Built: ca. 1885
Original Location: Martinson Island, Prior Lake, MN
Building Name: Martinson House
