1. Iron Horse or "Pegasus Without Wings" Marker
American sculptor Abbott Pattison created Iron Horse, also known as, "Pegasus Without Wings", in 1954. The Curtis family rescued Iron Horse from storage in 1959 and relocated it from Athens, Georgia, to a prominent location on their family farm in Greene County. Patty Curtis and her daughter, Alice Hugel, were honored to return ownership of Iron Horse to the University of Georgia on January 10, 2024. May Iron Horse continue to graze and grow strong for many years to come.
