Inscription.
1956 Bay City Model 450 Dragline. . The Bay City Company of Bay City, Michigan, started as a prominent manufacturer of dredging machines, producing well over 200 between 1914 and 1930. They were used in many states, from California to Florida, digging ditches and canals to drain swampy land. This dragline Model 450 was acquired by Robert Trump in 2007. The Bay City Company was also known for its mobile cranes called "CraneMobiles" and "CraneWagons." In 1966, Bay City was taken over by crane manufacturer, Manitowoc, and in 1969, Bay City cranes were discontinued. This Model 450 was one of 7 built in 1956. With a 60' boom and longer tracks, it made a stable platform in this dragline configuration. To keep the machine as historically accurate as possible, Robert insisted during the restoration that its "Pony" motor was to be included in the crane's house. This small motor would start the crane's Cat D318 6-cylinder diesel engine. It proved most troublesome, but in an effort for accuracy, it was tolerated!
