1. Grandmama’s Legacy of Flowers Marker

Inscription. The Tree of Life quilt pattern has been a popular pattern since the 1800s. Paige took the basic tree of life pattern, replicated it in soft natural tones in each quadrant of the quilt. She then superimposed a gorgeous array of flowers, appliquéd on the pattern. The flowers represented were grown in her paternal grandmother’s garden in Mississippi that Paige then transplanted to her own garden in South Carolina. Daylilies, Acuba, Texas Yellow Rose, Hydrangeas and Nandinas are all included in bright, bold fabrics.

Paige learned to sew on that same grandmother’s 1949 Singer that she still has in her possession. “Grandmama worked in a factory, sewing gussets and panties and passed her precision and eye for detail down to me. She belongs to several local guilds and has authored a book, and received several quilting awards, including QuiltCon 2017, where she took second place in the Small Quilts category for “Cursive.”

family barn. Table Rock was described in the 1820s as the “monarch of the mountains,” and is one of the most visited and photographed landmarks in the state.
