1. Ruffin Brothers Grocery Marker

Inscription. Founded by Jacob Ruffin, Sr. & his wife Lula as a small roadside stand. Eventually expanded to include groceries to include groceries & furniture. The store was run by their four children: Mary Lou, Emma, Samuel, and Jacob Jr. Jacob Ruffin, Jr. was the first African American elected to the Town Council, serving over 25 years.
