Regarding Pasadena Humane Society. Founded in 1903 by a local Methodist group, Pasadena Humane initially aimed to prevent cruelty to both children and animals.
They purchased this property in 1914. The oldest building dates back to 1929 and is located behind the modern-day dog kennels.
The historic building on Raymond Avenue, which currently houses the adoptions office and animal resource center, was completed in 1932.
The organization's core mission is to ensure the humane treatment of animals and provide them with safe shelter and care until they are adopted.
