1. Great White Shark Marker
Inscription. In 2008, the Georgia Museum of Natural History received two life-sized replicas of a Great White Shark and Killer Whale from the Capitol Museum in Atlanta. Previously, the fiberglass models were on display in the fourth floor rotunda at the Georgia State Capitol, which now focuses on Georgia Capitol and Government history. They were produced by the Klineburger/Jonas Brothers of Seattle in 1976 and were later restored by Stefan Vancica in 2012.

Great White Sharks (Carcharodon carcharias) are found primarily in coastal waters around the world, but they can also migrate long distances across oceans. Great White Sharks can weigh as much as 5,000 pounds and measure up to 21 feet in length. The largest ones captured have been female great whites like the one above. However, on average, they weigh between 1,500 and 2,450 pounds and are 13 to 16 feet in length. Similarly, like the Orca, Great White Sharks are apex predators located at the top of the marine food chain. Fully grown Great White Sharks primarily eat sea lions, seals, small toothed whales (dolphins) and sea turtles.
