Regarding Jesus Christ King of the Universe Statue. St. Mary of Częstochowa was completed in 1918 to serve the large Polish population that had settled in Cicero starting in the 1880s. It is named after an icon of the Virgin Mary, known as the "Black Madonna," that is found at the Jasna Gσra Monastery in Częstochowa, Poland. In 2022, the church merged with another Cicero parish about two miles south, Our Lady of Charity, as part of the Archdiocese of Chicago's "Renew My Church" consolidation.

This statue was designed by Czesław Dźwigaj, a Polish sculptor who also designed the bronze doors of the St. Hyacinth Basilica on Chicago's north side.
