Inscription. Fourteen charter members organized Fountain Inn Presbyterian Church in 1889. They met in homes and other temporary sites until 1891. when members built a frame church here and Rev. Robert Henderlite became the first minister. Preachers from Fairview and New Harmony churches previously served this area. In 1910, a larger brick veneered church with three story bell tower was built to accommodate a growing congregation.

Fountain Inn Presbyterian Church was originally part of Enoree Presbytery. The church has been remodeled several times, with updates to the sanctuary and the addition of Sunday School rooms. An education building was constructed in 1958 and later expanded. In 1969, the church underwent extensive renovations that increased its capacity, removed the original bell tower, and added a columned portico to the east entrance.
