1. L.E. Mansion Marker
Inscription.
Constructed in 1904 at a cost of $50,000, this opulent home was designed by Smith and Gage Architects of Des Moines for the Jones family. Sheathed in Indiana limestone, the three stories boast solid mahogany and oak woodwork inside, imported Italian stained glass and a Steuben glass chandelier. It has served as both a Masonic Lodge and private residence.
