Stefan Weiss came to Norway as an Austrian-Jewish refugee from Vienna in 1938. He had an education from the Vienna Academy of Commerce, but worked as a packer at the Fix lampshade factory in the Old Town of Oslo. Stefan was divorced and had no children.(Submitted on June 27, 2025.)
On October 26, 1942, Stefan was arrested by the Norwegian state police and taken to Bredtveit prison. Two days later, he was transferred to Berg prison camp outside Tψnsberg. From here, he was deported on the transport ship Donau on November 26 to Stettin, and from there to the extermination camp Auschwitz. Upon arrival at the camp on December 1, 1942, Stefan was transferred to Golleschau, a satellite camp to Auschwitz. Here, Stefan Weiss perished on January 31, 1943.
