Zijlstraat 76
The story behind Zijlstraat 76
The late 19th century building at Zijlstraat 76 was built in neo-Renaissance style to a design by architect F.G. Haitsma Mulier.
In the past, ABN Bank and Ambro Bank were located separately on Zijlstraat. Shortly after the renovation of ABN Bank, it merged with Ambro Bank. The recently renovated office building, Zijlstraat 76, was therefore sold.
The frames with windows were removed. These were kept in storage for 25 years and then used in another building of the owner.
Nowadays, the facade of the building is provided with two natural stone columns. This has given the building an open character that fits in nicely with the streetscape. With this intervention, Cobraspen has prepared the building for the future.
Erected by Cobraspen.
