Depot
In the late 1800s, passengers and freight traveled to and from towns on a growing network of rails. Trains quickly connected farms to cities, factories to stores, and people to places. A town that had a depot benefited form this vital link to the rest of the world. New products such as seafood could now be shipped north from the Gulf of Mexico. Access to the Minneapolis market and beyond improved the lives of the townspeople.
