First School in Jensen. . Riverdale (Jensen) was settled by pioneers in 1877. Four years later, the first school was held in Riverdale in 1881. Miss Lydia Maria Chatwin (native born pioneer of 1868) was the first school teacher; she was 13 years old. Her father was an educator in Heber City. He later relocated to Santaquin and established a school where Lydia spent the fall, winter and spring months of her life attending and assisting at each of her father's schools until she began teaching in Riverdale. , , Miss Chatwin first taught the children from the Annis Blizzard and Elizabeth Rasmussen families in a three-room log house that used to stand here. , , Lydia Maria Chatwin met and married Heber Richard Wall in 1886, at the age of 18. She and her husband lived first in a dugout and later built a two-story home in Jensen. They became the parents of 10 children. She was adamant about all children being educated.
