Inscription.
The steam locomotive has vanished as a common sight in the American landscape. At Steamtown, the old yards of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad have come back to life as the National Park Service works to preserve America's heritage of steam railroading.

At a distance, steam railroading retains all its storied romance. But up close, the task of keeping the trains running is a grimy, noisy, and potentially dangerous job. Steamtown National Historic Site offers visitors a chance to experience both the grandeur and the grit of the main-line steam railroad.

Your admission fee gives access to the theater, the history museum, a technology museum, and the operating roundhouse. A variety of interpretive programs are offered on a regular basis.
