1. AH-1 Cobra Attack Helicopter (USS Eisenhower) Marker
Inscription. In 1966 the Department of Defense ordered 1,100 Cobras from Bell Helicopter. Cobras logged over 1 million flight hours in Vietnam.

The Cobra has struck fear in the hearts of the enemy for more than 30 years. Cobras provided ground commanders with air superiority without the wait of calling in the Air Force. The army retired these war heroes on March 31, 1999, in Hawaii, where the 25th infantry said farewell to its first dedicated attack aircraft. The Cobra continues its service with the US Marines. AH-1 also used by: Bahrain, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Pakistan, South Korea, Thailand, & Turkey.
