1. Hardee County Courthouse Marker
Inscription. On January 18, 1907, the Hardee County Courthouse property was conveyed to the City of Wauchula for the sum of $300. The city deeded the property to the county on September 22, 1927.

The building is an imposing structure with Tuscan columns flanking the entrance. Bronze doors, each weighing one thousand pounds, lead into the building. The original judge’s bench was carved from native cypress by Grant Mumford. The design for the building included a fountain built from Caen stone with a base of green tile. Rising from the center is an obelisk mounted by an eagle with a wing span of about forty inches.

Erected by Main Street Wauchula.
