Inscription. Psi Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega was established at the University of Oklahoma with twelve founding members on January 14, 1916. On that date, Alpha Chi Omega became the fifth national sorority on the university's campus. Additionally, Psi became the twenty-third formally installed chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. The property located here at 1115 College Avenue was purchased in the early 1950s. Previously, the chapter had two homes: the first on Asp Avenue and the second on Boyd Street. A new home was built on this property in 1951, housing Psi sisters for 70 years. In 1986, an extensive renovation occurred to that structure. As no building can last forever, on August 18, 2021, Psi Chapter broke ground on its current home, fittingly named “The Heights”; the first newly constructed sorority house at OU in over 40 years. Psi chapter has flourished at our beloved university for more than 100 continuous years. This home stands today as a testament to the strength and bond of our sisterhood and the dedication of our alumnae who, true to our motto, came together to ensure the continued excellence of Psi's second century.
