1. Cabbage Rose Marker
Inscription. Cabbage rose or "Holland rose" originated in the Netherlands during the 16th century. It is an old garden rose with large, globe-shaped flowers holding approximately 100 overlapping petals per bloom, which earned its comparison to a dense head of cabbage. Usually pink, this rose has a delightful perfume that must be savored, as it blooms only once per season.

Erected by New York Botanical Garden.
