Rose & Salvatore “Sal” Cresci
Family of Little Italy
Sal held one of the first U.S. Coast Guard approved Captain’s licenses and he taught many fishermen in the tuna fleet celestial navigation. Rose and Sal were among the co-founders of the ITAMS “Big Blowout”, the oldest continuing Italian American Social Event in San Diego County. After all these years Sal and Rose remain active in the community. Almost daily you can find Sal visiting the family properties while Rose is often called upon for her stories of the good old days in Little Italy....

Regarding Rose & Salvatore “Sal” Cresci. Salvatore Cresci passed away on November 11, 2014, in his home in Point Loma. He joined his beloved "bride" Rose Gilozetti Cresci, who passed away on March 20, 2011.
He and his wife, Rose, founded the Italian American (ITAMS) "Blow Out" in 1946, which ran for over 50 years.
