From 1952 to 2017 the Kattenslootbrug bridge house accommodated the city's bridge keepers. In 2017 the bridge house started a new chapter as one of 28 suites for SWEETS hotel.

Architect Pieter Lodewijk Kramer designed the Kattenslootbrug bridge house just before he left the city's bridges division in 1952 and it was the last bridge house he designed, together with the bridge house on the Omvalbrug (bridge). This post-war structure is clearly more austere compared to its predecessors, this is evident in the simple roof form, the steel window frames and the use of steel plate in the balustrades. Still, the building displays features typical of Kramer such as the relationship between the building and the bridge barrier and the different brick patterns around the roof and window frames. The bridge was operated from a control lectern situated on the other side of the bridge. Kramer also designed a small terrace with seating next to the bridge house.
