The true origin of Paul Bunyan and his companion, Babe the Blue Ox, may never be known. Some experts trace the folklore legend to French-Canadian or European origin while others believe it was the fabrication of a logging company of the early 1900s. All agree that this folk legend has captured the imagination of people across North America for more than 100 years.
