Inscription.
"When we left a village meeting, everybody knew where I stood. I was always upfront and Honest with people because what I did was for the people and the village. A handshake was my word and very important to me as mayor."

Glenn Warning was born on February 23, 1924 and is a life-long resident of Frankfort, Illinois.

Glenn was mayor of Frankfort for 24 years (1965 to 1989) and served on the Will County Board for 14 years (from 1989 to 2003).

During his years of public service, he was an entrepreneur and Frankfort businessman.

His vision for Frankfort was healthy growth.
"What kept me here is that I'm dedicated to the area. I wouldn't trade Frankfort for any other community."

2. Mayor Glenn Warning. This article reprinted by the Frankfort Historical Society appears to date to the mid-1980s, when Warning was still the mayor of this village about 32 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
Excerpt: "In fact, one can say that Warning`s political career grew out of his involvement in community organizations, such as the Lions Club. In a town where everyone knew everyone else, his activities did not go unnoticed. When a vacancy developed in the board of trustees in the early 1960s, George Sangmeister Sr., then the village president, appointed Warning to fill it."
