Inscription.
A native of Long Island
A soldier in the Revolution and the first that emigrated with his family from Connecticut to this place in 1802. To the end of life he set an example of industry and economy. Served his generation by the will of God and fell asleep July 26th A.D. 1825 in the 74th year of his age.
