1. The Mucking Machine Marker
Inscription. This track mounted shovel called a mucking machine was to the hard rock mines as the 'Joy loader" was to the coal mines. When the rock face was blasted "the mucker", operated by air, was used to load the loose blasted rock (muck) into mine cars. This mucker was used in 1935 through 1940 to drive the main haulage and drain funnel for New Park Mining Company's Mayflower Mine in Park City, Utah.
