This school served as a Learning Center, a church and a place for social gatherings.

Site of Daily Dak. Terr. Established in 1882. Ole P. Hjelde's General Store and Post Office began in 1882. Post Office closed in 1908. Store closed in 1922.
 
Erected by Barnes County Historical Society, Inc., Dakota Territory Collectors Club. Former pupils of Daily School and relatives of O. P. Hjelde.
