Dům U Černého medvěda č. p. 477
Dům s pozdně gotickým jádrem z počátku 16. století. V prvním patře je ostění pozdně gotického okna, letopočet v klenáku půlkruhového portálu 1513. V domě byl od roku 1556 hostinec, nesoucí název od roku 1669 „U Černého medvěda“. Velký sál byl využíván jako jedno z neutrálních míst pro jednání sněmu, tj. stavů - zástupců měšťanů, šlechty a po nástupu rekatolizace i kléru. Na mnohých listinách městského archivu v Chebu je poznámka „dáno na vědomí, nebo oznámeno U Černého medvěda“. Roku 1669 získal dům Johann Michael Widtmann, který tu zřídil poštu a stal se prvním chebským poštmistrem. Při raně barokní přestavbě byly nově rozvrženy čtyři okenní osy, průčelí do náměstí bylo nově opatřeno iluzivními malbami rohové bosáže a rustikami. V přízemí nalevo od vchodu se zachovala místnost klenutá valenou klenbou a raně barokní dřevěné schodiště.

Zum Schwarzen Bären Nr. 477
Haus mit spätgotischem Kern vom Beginn des 16. Jahrhunderts. Im ersten Stock ist die Leibung eines spätgotischen Fensters, Jahreszahl im Sturzstein des halbkreisförmigen Portals 1513. Im Haus befand sich ab dem Jahre 1556 ein Gasthaus, das ab dem Jahre 1669 den Namen „Zum Schwarzen Bären (U Černého medvěda)“ trug. Der große Saal (Maßhaus) wurde als einer der neutralen Orte für die Tagungen des Landtages, der sog. Stände - der Vertreter der Bürger, des Adels, und zwar nach dem Antritt der Gegenreform und des Klerus genutzt. Auf vielen Urkunden des Stadtarchivs in Eger ist die Anmerkung „zur Kenntnis oder bekannt gegeben Zum Schwarzen Bären“. Im Jahre 1669 erwarb das Haus Johann Michael Widtmann, der hier eine Post einrichtete und erster Egerer Postmeister wurde. Beim frühbarocken Umbau wurden die vier Fensterachsen neu konzipiert, die Hauptfassade zum Marktplatz wurde neu mit illusionistischen Malereien eines Eckbossenwerks und mit einer Rustika versehen. Im Erdgeschoss, zur linken Seite des Eingangs, blieb ein Raum mit einem Tonnengewölbe und einem frühbarocken hölzernen Treppenhaus erhalten.

year 1513 set into the voussoir of the semi-circular portal. It was home to an inn from 1556 onwards, bearing the name of the Black Bear from 1669. Its large hall was used as a neutral place for the meetings of the assembly; i.e. of the estates the representatives of the burghers, the aristocracy and, after the arrival of re-Catholicisation, the clergy. Indeed, there are plenty of references in the documents of the town archive in Cheb to matters having been brought to attention or reported at the Black Bear. The building came into the hands of Johann Michael Widtmann in 1669 and it was he who opened a post office here, becoming the first postmaster in Cheb. Four window axes were newly designed during early-Baroque reconstruction and the frontage into the square was provided with illusive paintings of corner rustication. A room with barrel vaulting and an early-Baroque wooden staircase remain on the ground floor to the left of the entrance.
