Dům Brentano č. p. 514
Renesanční dům z 16. století je přestavěný barokně. Skromné průčelí s mřížkovanými poli omítky nad a pod okny je prvek charakteristický pro vídeňské baroko, který se na Chebsku nalézá jen velmi ojediněle. V přízemí je zachována původní dispozice se středním klenutým mázhauzem a barokními vraty do dvora, po straně je připojena krámská hala s křížovou klenbou s odsekanými patkami. V 1. patře jsou stropy se štukovými rámy a horní mázhauz s plochým renesančním stropem. V letech 1712-1735 vlastnil dům kupec Antoni Brentano, po němž je dům nazýván. V jeho hostinském pokoji byla 23. července 1721 uznána shromážděnými chebskými stavy Pragmatická sankce. V přízemí stojí za povšimnutí raně barokní portál z narudlého pískovce.

ist ein für den Wiener Barock charakteristisches Element, das sich im Egerland nur vereinzelt findet. Im Erdgeschoss ist die ursprüngliche Anordnung mit dem mittleren, gewölbten Maßhaus und dem Barocktor zum Hof erhalten geblieben, zur Seite ist eine Ladenhalle mit einem Kreuzgewölbe mit gehauenen Fußpunkten angefügt. Im 1. Stock befinden sich Decken mit Stuckrahmen und das obere Maßhaus mit einer flachen Renaissancedecke. In den Jahren 1712-1735 war das Haus im Besitz des Kaufmanns Antonio Brentano, nach welchem das Haus benannt ist. In seinem Gästezimmer wurde am 23. Juli 1721 durch die versammelten Egerer Stände die Pragmatische Sanktion anerkannt. Im Erdgeschoss ist das frühbarocke Portal aus rötlichem Sandstein bemerkenswert.

The Brentano house no. 514
A Renaissance building dating back to the 16th century that has been reconstructed in the Baroque style. The modest frontage with gridded fields of plasterwork above and below the windows is an element characteristic of Viennese Baroque, a rarity in the Cheb area. The original layout, with central, vaulted Maßhaus and Baroque gateway into the courtyard, remains on the ground floor, whilst a market hall with cross vaulting and cut-away abutments is connected to the side. The first floor is home to ceilings with stueco frames and an upper Maßhaus with plain Renaissance roof.

The building was owned by merchant Antoni Brentano between 1712 and 1735 and it is after him that it is named. It was in his guest room on 23rd July 1721 that the Pragmatic Sanction was recognised by the gathered estates of Cheb. Worthy of note on the ground floor is the early-Baroque portal made of reddish sandstone.
