Moreland Hills in Cuyahoga County, Ohio — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
Settling Down Near Family
Life was difficult on the farm for the Garfield family, especially after the untimely death of father Abram Garfield in 1833. They were fortunate, however, to live in close proximity with Abrams half-brother Amos Boynton and his wife, Alpha (Eliza Garfields younger sister). The Boyntons lived across Jackson Road, due north from here.
