1. Hardy Allen House Marker
Inscription. An early settler, stockman, blacksmith and businessman in the Sisters area; Hardy Allen and wife Daisy moved to Sisters in 1905. Hardy’s father, Albert Allen, had arrived in Oregon on the Meek Lost Wagon Train in 1845.

The Allen’s built this house in 1908 on the NW corner of Main & Fir streets. The house is a single story frame cottage, with drop siding and a hip roof. The exterior was decorated with detail in the Eastlake tradition.

The house was scheduled for demolition, but was saved from that fate by being moved 3 blocks to its current site. Extensive renovation, over the period of sisteen months beginning in 1990, was done with the intent to replicate original construction as closely as possible.
