The Weiner couple came as refugees from Vienna to Norway in May 1939. Due to their advanced age, they were both given shelter at the Jewish Home for the Elderly at Holbergsgate 21 in Oslo. However, during the campaign against the Jews in Norway in the autumn of 1942, they did not escape. Friedrich was arrested on 26 October and transferred to Berg prison camp outside Tψnsberg. He was released on 7 November, but arrested again and placed at Bredtveit. From here, on 26 November 1942, he was deported on the ship Donau to Stettin and from there to the Auschwitz extermination camp. Upon arrival at the camp on 1 December, Friedrich Weiner was taken straight to the gas chamber and killed.
