1. Frank Dudley Lawrence Marker
Inscription. A baseball pioneer, devoting nearly a half century to the game as owner of the Portsmouth franchise. One of baseball’s most noted independent operators, who led the fight against major league domination. Produced a harvest of stars, including Pie Traynor, Hack Wilson, Harry Brecheen and countless others. Won pennants in 1920, 1921, 1927, 1943 and 1950. Voted Minor League Executive of the Year in 1943.

Regarding Frank Dudley Lawrence. The Tidewater Baseball Shrine recognizes players and executives who have significantly contributed to the game of baseball in the Tidewater area of Virginia. The shrine is located at Harbor Park, which is home to the Norfolk Tides, a AAA minor league baseball team affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles.
