1. Steve Springer Marker
Inscription. Huntington Beach, CA. native, an all-time fan favorite and mainstay of several of greatest Tides teams for six seasons. His clutch performance led team to play-offs four straight years (1985-88), Governor’s Cup title in ‘85, regular season title in ‘87 and East Division title in ‘88.

Traded to White Sox and after brief stays in Cleveland, San Diego and Seattle chains, returned to Tides in ‘92-93 and won Doubleday Award, emblematic of most valuable selection and earned call-up to Mets. Finished career with Toledo and tormented Tides as an opponent.

Holds almost all Tides career offensive records with 720 games, 2635 AB’s, 717 Hits, 326 Runs, 320 RBI’s, 115 2B’s and 1015 total bases. The consummate team player, his ability, hustle and attitude earned him accolades from all his managers as well as opposing teams. A devoted family man, became professional scout and successful player agent after retirement.
