1. Dave Rosenfield Marker
Inscription. Born in El Paso, Tx. raised in Los Angeles, CA. graduate of Los Angeles H.S. (4th in class of 1,000). Attended UCLA and Los Angeles City College. Graduate of Cal State - L.A. with degree in Language Arts.

As a catcher, won collegiate 5 letters between 3 schools. Signed with Phillies, played pro ball with Stockton ( C ) and Eugene (D) NAS while serving in the US Navy.

General Manager for 4 years (1959-60) at Bakersfield, CA. ( C ). Spent one season (1961) as G.M. of Topeka, KS (B).

Came to Tidewater in 1962. Named G.M. of Tidewater Tides in 1963. Team operated in South Atlantic and Carolina Leagues (1962-68). Instrumental in move to Triple-A and bringing N.Y. Mets and International League to area, sustaining professional baseball in Tidewater.

Overseen Tides in three facilities - Lawrence Stadium, Metropolitan Memorial (Met) Park and Harbor Park. Served over 20 years as V.P. of International League. Multiple recipient International Leagues Executive-of-the-Year Award. 1993 winner of NAPBL’s top honor, John Johnson President’s Trophy. Awarded 1994 AAA Bob Freitas Award by Baseball America for Long-Standing Excellence.

Also has served as G.M. of football's Norfolk Neptunes (1968-70); the hockey’s Tidewater Sharks (1975) and interim G.M. of ABA’s Virginia Squires (1974). Co-Founder

2. Dave Rosenfield Marker
recognizes players and executives who have significantly contributed to the game of baseball in the Tidewater area of Virginia. The shrine is located at Harbor Park, which is home to the Norfolk Tides, a AAA minor league baseball team affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles. The Norfolk Tides annually induct new members into the shrine.
