1. The Carroll Building Marker
Inscription. The Carroll Building has been an anchor for Lakeside's commercial area since 1905. Brothers Dan & John Carroll ran a grocery store / general store for over 4 decades. Other groceries have been here too. The Carrolls also owned a gas station at the southeast corner of W. 2nd and Maple and later the two-story building at W. 2nd and Walnut built by Lakeside co-founder Barney Jacobs.
