Bud Day. The Iron Man of Cowboys. This area and culture was built upon the characteristics of determination and grit, honesty, integrity, and a high level of respect for family, neighbors, and friends. This description couldn't be any better exemplified than through the life of Bud Day. He has been referred to by many as the Iron Man of Cowboys. This hard-as-steel character rewarded Bud with Korean War decorations and more rodeo championships than any one in our area. Yet, if someone needed to be helped or encouraged, in the arena or off the street, Bud Day stepped down to help others up.
