Newhall in Santa Clarita in Los Angeles County, California — The American West (Pacific Coastal)
Pardee House
California Point of Historical Interest No. 562 was built about 1890 as a Good Templars Hall by Prohibitionist Henry Clay Needham. The structure was moved in 1893 from Pine Street to the present Veterans Historical Plaza by oilman and livery stable owner Ed Pardee, who enlarged it and made it his family home. Pardee's daughter, Pearle Pardee Russell, sold the building in 1946 to Pacific Telephone Company, which used it as the telephone exchange. Afterward, it was leased to the SCV Boys Club and then the Newhall-Saugus-Valencia Chamber of Commerce. In 1992, the phone company donated the building to the Historical Society.
