Regarding Sutter Creek Grammar School. The Sutter Creek Grammar School is #61 on the Sutter Creek Walking Tour Brochure available at the Sutter Creek Visitor Center and Museum.

The former school was built in 1870-71 when the first school on the westerly side of town was torched in a school dispute. The Sutter Creek Women's Club worked for years to obtain grants and raise funds to restore the building. For many years it has been the office of the Amador County Arts Council.
