Inscription.
On this site, baseball's NY Giants, honoring former manager John J. McGraw's wish to bring his team home, played a game against local team Truxton Giants. By a score of 8-1, the NY Giants prevailed. The game was attended by approximately 8,000 people. Tickets were $1.10. Proceeds were used to build the John J. McGraw monument.
