Inscription. With 1923 Portsmouth Truckers, led Virginia League in Batting (.388), HR (19), Triples (15) and RBI (101). Purchased by John McGraw and played with N.Y. Giants at end of season.

Powerful 5’6”, 195 pound slugger still holds National League HR Record (56) and Major League RBI record (190) set in 1930 with Chicago Cubs.

Played in two World Series, hitting .471 in 1929. Also played with Dodgers and Phillies, compiling lifetime average of .307, with 244 HR, and 1,063 RBI in 12 seasons.
