Nissens Latin and Secondary School's building was ready for occupancy in 1847. It was located in a large garden. In the back building there was a gymnasium and an apartment for the janitor (caretaker). When the Christiania Handicraft and Industrial Association took over the property, the garden was developed and an open-air restaurant was built. The wing to Kristian IVs gate was built in 1905 and the entire building complex was expanded to five floors after a loft fire in 1918.(Submitted on August 4, 2025.)
"The Craftsman" is a well-known term for Oslo residents. It has been a place for meetings and socializing, exhibitions and bazaars throughout the years. The banquet hall was decorated by Per Krohg and Alf Rolfsen.
