Ted's Place
Ted's wife Nellie was the freight hauler and cook she and their son Dick took over operations in 1948 while Ted served several terms in both the Colorado House of Representatives and Senate.
Ted's Place was a local landmark the Poudre Canyon was known as Colorado's "Trout Route." Ted was an enthusiastic fisherman and his business sold fishing licenses and tackle.
Ted's Place is the only business establishment to be a reference point on Colorado maps. The store remained in Ted's family until 1962. After 70 years in business, Ted's Place was razed in 1989. A park was built in the same spot by Conoco gas as a memorial to Ted's Place.
Did you Know? Ted's Place was known as "The West's Mecca for Anglers" and was open all night on the first day of the fishing season.
