Inscription. This historic site at Ballinafad Lot 1, Con 7, Erin Township, Wellington County is where Nathaniel Roszel made the first settlement in the township in 1820. His child Benjamin was the first white child born in the township. Mr. Roszel donated land for a cemetery, Methodist church, school, temperance hall and parsonage. The land where the church and temperance hall once stood is now the community centre.
