1. Dr. Frederick Douglas Moon Marker

Inscription. An educator and the first Black person elected to the City Board of Education, he was known as the “Dean” of Black education in Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Langston University and founded its alumni association. He served as principal of Douglass High School in Oklahoma City from 1940-1961 and was responsible for obtaining North Central Association accreditation for the Douglass High Schools in Crescent, Wewoka and Oklahoma City.
