Inscription. The Emlenton Milling Company, built in 1875 by James Bennett and a brother-in-law, Albert Cochran, continued in operation until 1974 under various ownerships. The mill, originally powered by steam, underwent many changes over the years, always supplying the area with quality flours. Today the building showcases quality antiques and a cafe. Most of the milling equipment is still intact and can be viewed.

The Roschy Carriage Works, started in 1879, stood around the corner of Main and 3rd Streets. Fred Roschy sold and repaired wagons, sleighs, and bobsleds, later adapting his shop to meet the needs of the growing timber business until the 1940s. The building was leveled in 1998.
